Illinois OL with proven academic grit and elite pass-protection pedigree
Ryan McDonald’s Illinois profile points to an offensive lineman type prized for consistency, intelligence, and durability: the Illini’s Ryan McDonald note a two-time second-team All-Big Ten selection and two-time first-team Academic All-American, and the National Football Foundation credits him as a key piece of an offensive line that allowed a school-record low 16 sacks in 2007.[5][3] For a team, that combination suggests a technically sound, dependable blocker who brings high football IQ and strong practice habits more than flash—exactly the sort of fit coaches value when they want reliability in the trenches.[5][3]
