young Saluki arm with real strikeout bite and early poise
Emma Gipson, a sophomore pitcher for Southern Illinois, showed immediate value in 2025 by posting a 3-5 record with a 2.77 ERA and 30 strikeouts over 81.0 innings, while ranking seventh in the Missouri Valley Conference in ERA. She also flashed durability, working 30 games with 25 starts and tossing multiple scoreless outings, including a hitless performance against North Texas. The upside here is a composed, battle-tested left? No—right-handed? right-handed arm who already proved she can handle meaningful innings; the fit question is whether your staff wants a developing starter with early-career consistency and room to climb.
