RJ Thomae brings size, versatility, and academic reliability to Valpo's outfield mix
RJ Thomae is a 6-foot, 195-pound right-handed outfielder for Valparaiso who appeared in six games and made two starts in the 2025 season, making his collegiate debut at Vanderbilt and earning Valparaiso University Presidential Academic Honors; he also received MVC academic recognition in 2025-26. While his in-game sample is still small, the big takeaway is his combination of physicality, development runway, and coachable profile—he looks like a depth piece with upside rather than a finished product, and he fits best with a program that values patience, defense, and strong off-field habits.
