Mali-Born Big Man with Proven Rebounding Prowess and Injury Resilience
Daouda Soumaoro, a 6-9 center from Mali who transferred to Western Kentucky Hilltoppers after stints at Iowa Western CC and other programs, stands out for his double-double capability—highlighted by a 23-point, 14-rebound explosion in 2012 and leading his team in scoring (12.4 PPG) early that season before an ACL injury. His physicality, international pedigree, and comeback grit make him a high-motor rebounder and rim protector ideal for teams needing tough, versatile frontcourt depth; watch for breakout potential if he stays healthy in 2025-26.
