NC State’s booming, reliable field-flipper
In the 2014 season, Wil Baumann was one of the ACC’s best punters, earning first-team All-ACC honors after averaging 45.3 yards per punt and ranking seventh nationally. He’s the kind of specialist coaches love: big leg, high-end placement, and a track record of pinning teams deep—he was already known for strong inside-the-20 production and clutch directional punting early in his NC State career. What makes him valuable goes beyond the stat line: he handled huge workloads, thrived in tough conditions, and gave the Wolfpack a steady hidden-yardage weapon.
