Joseph Wighton brings veteran Cal Poly safety instincts and ball production
Joseph Wighton is a former Cal Poly safety whose value shows up in playmaking, not just tackles: in the 2005 season he recorded 11 tackles in one game against Northern Colorado and delivered a key interception in Cal Poly’s 18-14 win over Idaho State, helping swing a fourth-quarter rally. His profile suggests a disciplined, instinctive defensive back with a nose for the ball and enough range to impact tight games. If you want reliability, timing, and a defender who can change momentum, Wighton checks those boxes.
