Alexis Smith brings veteran guard savvy and steady play to Wagner
In the 2015-16 season, Alexis Smith was a polished, experience-heavy guard who gave Wagner maturity, ball handling, and secondary scoring, finishing with 7.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game while starting 5 of 5 games and shooting .255 from the field.[1][3][11] She was rated the No. 22 point guard in the nation coming out of high school, and Wagner valued her as a veteran transfer who could stabilize the backcourt and add poise under pressure.[1] The catch: her scoring efficiency was modest, and injuries limited her availability at times, so she looks best as a connective, floor-raising fit rather than a pure shot-creation engine.[4][6][13]
