Lewis Barnum V brings versatile contact value and opportunistic offense to CSUB
In the 2026 season, Lewis Barnum V is a utility piece for Cal State Bakersfield who has shown he can contribute in multiple spots and chip in situationally, including a sacrifice fly against UC Davis and a run-scoring role in conference play[1][2][3]. He looks like the kind of player coaches trust for baseball IQ, lineup flexibility, and steady hustle rather than loud tools; earlier game logs also show him impacting games with extra-base pop, including a three-run homer in 2025[3]. If a team wants a versatile, high-awareness contributor who can move around the diamond and do the little things, Barnum is the sort of glue guy worth a hard look[1][2][3].
