Carter Kleinsasser brings old-school bloodlines and new-school edge to UND
In the 2025 season, Carter Kleinsasser arrived at North Dakota as a 6-foot-3, 225-pound freshman edge/linebacker with a high-motor profile, bringing verified high-school production of 43 tackles, six tackles for loss, and two sacks as a senior, plus Second Team All-State and District Linebacker of the Year honors. He’s the son of UND legend Jim Kleinsasser, which adds pedigree, but the real draw is his versatility, toughness, and defensive versatility — the kind of player who can grow into a disruptive front-seven piece if his frame and pass-rush traits keep developing.
