Oakland’s Ben Green is showing ace upside with a late-season breakout
In the 2026 season, Oakland freshman RHP Ben Green emerged as a rotation anchor, highlighted by a 7.0-inning, 9-strikeout shutout effort in the Horizon League tournament and multiple quality starts that showed he can miss bats and work deep into games. His 6'2" frame, right-handed delivery, and improving command give him starter traits that play well in pressure spots. The separator: he’s not just surviving innings — he’s flashing the kind of mound presence and strikeout ability that can make a team’s weekend staff sturdier fast.
