Siena RHP Matt Murtagh brings strike-throwing polish and real run-prevention upside
Matt Murtagh is a right-handed starter/power arm for Siena with a track record of missing bats and limiting damage, highlighted by a 1.74 ERA, 7-1 record, and 11.5 strikeouts per nine in 2024 at Sullivan County, where he posted one of the best ERAs in NJCAA Division II. His profile suggests a competitive, attack-minded pitcher with enough size (6'2", 190) to project as a durable midweek or bullpen option, and his value is in run prevention, poise, and the ability to give a staff dependable innings rather than just raw velocity.
