Joshua Caldwell brings catcher versatility and projection at Maryland Eastern Shore
Caldwell stands out for his defensive tools behind the plate—quick feet, good agility, a strong arm, and a 2.28-second best pop time—while also showing a line-drive approach with the bat and the ability to reach base consistently in game action. Evaluators noted he has easy receiving mechanics, good direction to second base, and “huge strides” ahead with growth and development, which makes him a worthwhile fit for teams looking for an athletic catcher who can also handle outfield duties and develop into more impact production.
