Holy Cross RHP Dan Mateffy: Big frame, bullpen value, and a bounce-back arm to watch
In the 2026 season, Dan Mateffy has shown he can be a useful swing piece for Holy Cross, highlighted by a win over Stonehill on April 8 and a 2.1-inning, no-run relief outing against Portland on March 5, though his year has also included some rough innings and command issues. At 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, the junior right-hander brings bullpen length, pitchability, and enough arm strength to matter when he’s locating. The fit question: if your team wants a competitive, durable reliever who can eat innings and handle pressure, Mateffy is interesting; if you want spotless consistency, he’s still proving it.
