NIU’s reliable stretch forward and late-career engine
In the 2005-06 season, Todd Peterson was a steady, high-value forward for Northern Illinois, starting 27 of 28 games and leading the team with 12.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while also hitting 56 threes. He wasn’t just a shooter: he finished ninth in the MAC in rebounding, earned All-MAC Honorable Mention, and was named NIU’s MVP, which says a lot about his consistency and two-way usefulness. For a roster needing toughness, spacing, and a dependable veteran presence, he was the kind of glue player coaches love.
