steady, savvy NMSU safety with a veteran’s feel
Justin Smith projects as the kind of safety coaches trust to keep the defense organized: steady, physical, and assignment-sound, with a football IQ that helps him clean up mistakes and support the back end. The latest available team and profile data place him with New Mexico State’s safety group, but public stat detail is limited, so the bigger story is his value as a reliable presence rather than a headline-hunting playmaker. If your team wants a disciplined, tough, low-drama defensive back who understands leverage and positioning, Smith looks like a sensible fit.
