Eric Johnson brings size and upside to VMI’s defensive backfield
Eric Johnson is listed on VMI’s 2026 football roster as a defensive back, giving the Keydets a long, physical option in the secondary[4]. Publicly available team data does not yet show meaningful 2025-26 VMI statistics for him, so the main draw is projection: a DB with the chance to help on coverage, run support, and special teams if he translates his tools into steady consistency[4][5]. For a team, he fits best as a developmental defender with room to grow rather than a finished product[4].
