Iona’s Danny Onorato: young righty with projection, but still building consistency
Danny Onorato is a right-handed pitcher for Iona whose appeal is more about *upside* than finished product: recruiting and scouting listings describe him as a 2024 RHP with a broad-shouldered, projectable frame and a fastball that has been reported up to 86 mph, while Iona’s 2025 and 2026 data show he’s been used as both a starter and reliever. In 2026, he appeared in 12 games with six starts and worked 26.0 innings, including a season-high four strikeouts in 3.1 shutout relief innings at Quinnipiac, but his overall run prevention numbers suggest he’s still refining command and consistency. If you want a developmental arm with physical growth potential, he’s worth a look.
