Experienced playmaking guard with proven scoring upside
Upchurch is a seasoned guard whose best calling card has been his ability to create offense for others while still scoring in bunches; at New Haven, he averaged 18.8 points and 6.6 assists per game in one season, then later showed he could carry a larger load with a 30-point outing and 24 double-figure games. Current Charleston Southern stat lines have been quieter, but his value is still in his experience, pace-setting, and shot-creation—he fits best as a guard who can organize an offense and bring toughness, not just empty box-score volume.
