Tony Grimes brings veteran, ball-disrupting depth to Hawai‘i’s secondary
In the 2025 season, Tony Grimes logged 34 total tackles and 5 pass breakups at Purdue after posting 20 tackles and 6 pass breakups in 2024 at UNLV, showing he can be a steady, experienced DB who stays around the football. He’s a 6-foot-2, 195-pound defensive back with Power-5 pedigree, plus transfer experience from North Carolina and Texas A&M, which adds real value in a secondary. The appeal: size, range, and a proven track record of forcing tough throws rather than chasing highlight-reel chaos.
