UTEP DB Adrian James: Depth Piece with Safety Versatility and Steady Defensive Upside
Adrian James is a UTEP defensive back whose appeal is versatility and reliability rather than flashy production; he has been listed by UTEP and ESPN as a cornerback/safety-type defender, and UTEP’s roster notes show he appeared in all eight games in 2022, finished with nine tackles, a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup, and even started the season finale at safety[1][7]. He looks like a fit for teams that value disciplined coverage, special-teams utility, and a player who can move around the secondary without needing the ball in his hands to contribute[1][2].
