Unselfish Coverage Unit Leader with Elite Tackling Intensity
Tyler Bird, the 6-1, 220-pound Outside Linebacker for Appalachian State, stands out not just for his 110 career tackles and 2 sacks, but for his unrelenting, unselfish intensity on coverage units where he limited opponents to 18.91 yards per return in 2019. His differentiator is a rare 'mix of standouts' personality that prioritizes team success over personal stats, making him a perfect fit for any team needing a high-intensity, reliable linebacker who thrives in the trenches without ego. While he has no significant injury history, his sheer physical presence and football IQ ensure he is a good fit for teams seeking a leader who brings consistent, hard-nosed play every down.
