Michael Matthews-Canty emerged as a reliable, high-volume linebacker for Hampton, finishing his 2025 season with 78 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks after starting all 12 games, and he entered the transfer spotlight with Auburn after posting 112 tackles, 6.0 TFL and 4.0 sacks across two seasons at Hampton.[3][8] His differentiators are range, pursuit speed and productivity as both a run defender and pressure player, plus encouraging ball production with a forced fumble and fumble recovery in 2024.[3][6] He looks like a fit for a defense that wants an active, physical LB who can play early and make plays all over the field.[3][8]
