versatile ASU ball-hawk with veteran grit
In his 2021 season at Arizona State, Chase Lucas was a tough, experienced DB who logged 34 tackles and 6 pass breakups, and across five seasons he piled up 216 total tackles[1]. Scouting reports consistently praised his zone awareness, quick downhill trigger, and ball skills, while noting he could be beaten by twitchier receivers or challenged by his recovery speed[5][6][15]. That mix makes him the kind of defender who fits a disciplined secondary: smart, physical enough, and seasoned, with enough playmaking juice to matter when the ball is in the air[5][6].
