Frankie Johnson was a disruptive, high-IQ backcourt engine for The Citadel
Frankie Johnson’s best season at The Citadel came in 2017-18, when the sophomore guard started every game and averaged 6.3 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.8 steals while ranking among the Southern Conference leaders in assists, steals, and assist-to-turnover ratio. His differentiators were pace control, defensive activity, and unselfish play—he piled up 138 assists and 57 steals that season, both top-five marks in program history. If you wanted a guard who could organize, pressure, and compete every possession, Johnson fit that bill beautifully.
