Diakite brings veteran rebounding and efficient paint production to NJIT
Souleymane Diakite is a seasoned NJIT forward whose calling card has been interior efficiency and glass-cleaning, highlighted by a 2022-23 season in which he averaged 5.9 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 48.0% from the field. He’s a useful low-usage big who can finish around the rim, battle for boards, and give steady minutes without needing touches, which makes him a sensible fit for teams that value physicality and discipline over flash. The knock is that he’s not a floor-spacing threat and his offensive ceiling is more role-player than featured scorer.
