South Carolina’s kicking room wildcard with upside
Reid Bethea’s current profile is hard to pin down from public stats alone, which usually means one of two things for a kicker: the sample is tiny, or the story is still being written. What stands out is the South Carolina fit—if he’s in the Gamecocks’ kicker mix, the key question is consistency under pressure, because that’s what separates a serviceable leg from a trust-the-kid-on-4th-and-7 weapon. He looks like a pure projection play: intriguing if you want a developmental specialist, less compelling if you need a proven, high-volume finisher right now.
