Owen Ross brings contact-first versatility to NIU’s infield
In the 2026 season, Northern Illinois infielder Owen Ross has worked into a meaningful role, appearing in 12 games with seven starts, and he’s already shown he can deliver in small but timely ways, including a double at USC Upstate and his first RBI as a Husky at Presbyterian.[1] He’s a right-handed, 6-foot-4 senior transfer with experience at USC Upstate and Kirkwood CC, which gives NIU a mature option who looks comfortable handling pressure, turning in clean defense, and giving the lineup a steady, gap-to-gap bat rather than flashy boom-or-bust production.[1][2]
