Nate Burney brings veteran balance and playmaking to Akron’s backfield
Burney’s calling card is his proven production: he earned Associated Press Division IV All-Ohio offensive co-player of the year honors as a senior running back, signaling a runner who has already shown he can carry a workload and make an offense go. Beyond the stat line, that kind of recognition usually reflects trust, toughness, and consistency—traits that matter if you want a dependable RB who can fit into a physical, assignment-sound scheme. I don’t have reliable recent Akron-specific performance data in the provided sources, so this is a profile built more on his background than current-season numbers.
