Jamal Byrd brings steady, physical depth to Air Force’s secondary
Jamal Byrd looks like a dependable, tackling-first defensive back for Air Force, with the clearest recent public stat line showing 31 total tackles in 10 games and a career-high nine tackles in a single game. That production points to a player who is active near the ball, willing to come downhill, and useful in a disciplined scheme where reliability matters as much as splash plays. If you value toughness, assignment soundness, and a DB who can help stabilize the back end, Byrd is the kind of fit that quietly raises a defense’s floor.
