Chad Newell brings power, versatility, and special-teams value to Montana State
Newell was a hard-nosed, multi-use back for Montana State, listed at 6-1 and 225 pounds, with production as a runner, receiver, fullback, and special-teams contributor. He finished his Bobcat career with more than 2,000 rushing yards and 31 rushing touchdowns, and his calling card was reliability in big moments, including a school-record five rushing TDs against South Dakota State in the 2014 FCS playoffs. Reports also note he played through pain late in his career, adding toughness and leadership value beyond the box score.
