Joshua Sloan brings proven leg strength and placement to Memphis
Sloan is a high-floor punter with a track record of strong distance and placement: at UTEP in 2022 he averaged 44.0 yards per punt, ranked No. 19 nationally, and in 2023 averaged 44.2 yards with 18 punts inside the 20 and a long of 66 yards against Liberty; Memphis listed him as a senior, 6-2 and 189 pounds in 2024, and he was later signed by Montreal after punting for Memphis in 2024. He looks like a fit for a team that values field position, consistency, and a reliable veteran specialist rather than pure upside.
