Hiram Velez brings veteran slot speed and a grind-first résumé to Troy
Velez is a compact, seasoned wideout whose best value is reliability: at Troy he showed he could contribute as a playmaker, and earlier at Troy in 2016 he logged 10 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown, including a 47-yard score on his first touch. He also stands out for persistence and adaptability, having walked on, moved through JUCO, and earned opportunities through work ethic rather than hype. He is a fit for a team that values toughness, experience, and a receiver who can keep progressing in a system.
