Left-handed starter trending upward with WCC impact upside
Plata is a redshirt junior lefty who turned in a strong 2026 at Pacific, going 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 76.0 innings while earning WCC Pitcher of the Week honors after a run of quality starts. He stands out for his ability to miss bats, work deep enough to start, and keep improving in high-leverage conference outings. Reliable sources and scouting notes point to a live fastball (reported up to 93 mph) and a usable breaking-ball mix, making him a compelling fit for teams looking for a strike-throwing, left-handed rotation arm with room to keep climbing.
