Makiah Slade brings veteran safety depth and playmaking instincts to South Dakota State
Makiah Slade is a proven, physical **safety** for South Dakota State who has shown he can make impact plays in big moments, including an interception return that set up points and multiple starts in 2017. His value goes beyond raw tackle totals: he was trusted as a depth piece who returned from a midseason suspension in 2017, then earned meaningful snaps in conference and FCS playoff games, suggesting resilience, coach trust, and situational reliability. He looks like a fit for teams that want a disciplined, experienced defensive back who can cover ground and help in winning games, not just accumulate stats.
