MJ Hampton remains a veteran playmaker for JMU’s secondary
MJ Hampton is a seasoned James Madison safety whose calling card is impact plays: he was a first-team All-CAA safety in 2020-21 and later added a blocked punt and key stop in JMU’s FCS run, showing real feel for timing, urgency, and big-moment courage. The 2026 roster lists him as a redshirt senior at 6-foot, 200 pounds, which fits a physical, reliable defensive back who can tackle, disguise, and swing momentum. If you want a tone-setter with veteran instincts and special-teams value, he’s your guy.
