Experienced 6-foot-4 Niagara LHP still searching for consistency
Baumgart brings size, left-handed value, and college experience to Niagara, but his 2026 production has been uneven, with a 5.40 ERA and 2 strikeouts in 6.2 innings after throwing a season-high 3.2 innings in one outing. His best selling point is profile-based upside: at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, he has the frame teams look for in a durable arm, and his background suggests he has been a capable starter before. For a roster, he fits as a developmental depth piece or matchup lefty who could reward patient coaching if his command and strike-throwing sharpen up.
