Cal Cooper brings a live left arm and promising freshman upside to Omaha
In the 2026 season, Cal Cooper has appeared in limited action for Omaha, but the early profile is intriguing: he’s a left-handed starter-type with a fastball that has been clocked around 90 mph in recruiting reports, and he arrives after a strong senior year at Elkhorn South, where he posted a 6-0 record, a 1.23 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 48 strikeouts in 39.2 innings. He fits the ‘projectable arm’ mold—useful if your team wants upside, deception, and innings growth rather than an instant ace.
