Jalen Barr brings length, versatility, and defensive upside to SC State
Jalen Barr is best known as a long, athletic defensive back with the kind of versatility coaches like: he has experience in the secondary and as a return specialist, and his football background suggests strong instinct and development value rather than just raw box-score production. Recruiting and roster listings show him as a 6-foot, 170-pound athlete from Lake City, South Carolina, with earlier recognition as a wide receiver prospect and all-star game production, which points to playmaking ability in multiple phases. He looks like a fit for a team that values adaptable, high-motor defensive backs who can compete on special teams.
