compact Santa Clara catcher with early-career upside
Lemus is a 5'1" right-handed catcher for Santa Clara who is still early in her college career, with limited 2025 action but her first career hit already on the board, suggesting a player the staff is developing rather than a finished product[4]. Her background shows a solid offensive base from high school, where she posted a .317 average and .423 on-base percentage in 2022-23, and recruiting notes point to catcher/third-base versatility and quick pop-time skills that can translate behind the plate[2][5]. She looks like a fit for a team valuing depth, defensive flexibility, and a hardworking developmental player with room to grow[4][5].
