Cornell’s rangy safety with special-teams value and a dependable Ivy League floor
DJ Hooker has been a steady Cornell defensive back, listed at safety and appearing in the program’s 2023 roster as a 5-foot-10, 170-pound sophomore; ESPN’s stat page shows contributions on special teams in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, which hints at a versatile, coach-trusted role rather than empty-volume production. The big differentiator is reliability: he’s the kind of player who can help on coverage units, add back-end depth, and bring tough, assignment-sound defense. For a team looking for physicality, willingness, and low-drama consistency, he’s a sensible fit.
