SIU Edwardsville’s Kyle Hepburn brings contact bat, switch-hitting value, and catching upside
Hepburn arrived at SIUE after showing a solid bat at Johnson County CC in 2023 (.308 with 26 RBI) and has already flashed a bigger offensive ceiling in travel and showcase settings, including strong contact, gap power, and speed. At SIUE in 2025, he appeared in 15 games with seven starts and hit .179, so the current read is more “developmental catcher with upside” than finished product. His appeal is in defensive value, physicality, and the chance to grow into a reliable two-way contributor rather than immediate star power.
