Jacob May brings left-handed pop, contact skill, and clutch upside for CSU Bakersfield
In the 2026 season, Jacob May has been a steady offensive spark for Cal State Bakersfield, hitting .318 with a .439 OBP, .545 SLG, 3 home runs, and 8 RBI through 19 games, including a 6-for-17 week with a homer and double in mid-March[2][6]. He’s a left-handed hitting outfielder with real bat-to-ball ability and some sneaky extra-base juice, and CSUB’s staff specifically praised his proven hit track record and strong wood-bat summer before he arrived[3]. The fit is appealing if you want an energetic, on-base-minded outfielder who can handle pressure moments and add instant offense, not just a glove-and-run guy[6][11].
