Lonnie McCowan was a high-volume tackler for Chattanooga
Lonnie McCowan stood out at Chattanooga as a durable, productive **defensive back** who played in nine games with seven starts and piled up **70 tackles** in the 2005 season, a strong sign of reliability and run support from the secondary.[1][2] At **6-foot-0, 204 pounds**, he brought a sturdy frame for the position, suggesting a physical, downhill style that can help a defense fit the run and hold up in contact.[1][2] Based on the available roster stats, he looks like a fit for teams that value toughness, consistency, and tackling more than splash plays.[1][2]
