Wayne Cobham brings senior-size and special-teams grit to Akron's secondary
In the 2026 season, Wayne Cobham is a 6-2, 200-pound senior defensive back for Akron from Flanagan HS in Pembroke Pines, Fla.[1] His biggest differentiator is his physical frame and coverage/special-teams versatility—an Akron roster note also points to his impact on punt coverage, which suggests he plays with the kind of edge coaches love.[1] He looks like a steady fit if a team wants length, toughness, and a player who can help in multiple phases rather than just chase highlight-reel stats.[1]
