Fred Evans is a Texas State legend, but not a current Bobcats player
Fred Evans is best known as a former Texas State All-American and long-time NFL defensive tackle, not a current Bobcats defender, so he matters more as a program alumnus than an active roster fit.[1][2][3] His differentiators are veteran-level size, pro experience, and credibility as a homegrown success story returning to San Marcos, which signals leadership and a strong football IQ rather than current on-field production.[1][6] If you are evaluating him as a player, the key takeaway is that his value is historical and contextual, not based on present college performance.[1][2]
