Academic All-Big Ten DE with High-Intensity Edge Potential
Gabe Newburg, a 6-5, 251-pound junior defensive end at Michigan, stands out not for flashy stats (3 tackles, 0 sacks in 4 games) but for his elite academic discipline (two-time Academic All-Big Ten) and relentless, high-intensity playing style that scouts describe as 'coachable fire.' While his on-field production is limited due to recent injury history and rotational depth, his differentiator is his mental toughness, personality-driven intensity, and ability to elevate teammates—making him a perfect fit for teams valuing long-term development, leadership, and grit over immediate star power. He’s a rising edge prospect whose true value lies in his intangibles.
