Sawyer Black brings legit power-speed upside to UNC’s outfield
Sawyer Black is a left-handed hitting outfielder for North Carolina whose profile screams impact: MaxPreps listed him among the nation’s leaders in home runs during his high school career, and Perfect Game gave him a 10/10 potential grade as a very high draft pick. In 2025 summer ball with Hyannis in the Cape Cod League, he showed playable production against elite competition, while MLB’s player page notes he’s been assigned to UNC for the 2026 season. He stands out for loud power, athleticism, and pro-level upside—exactly the kind of bat you care about if you want middle-of-the-order juice with defensive flexibility.
