Jay Jones brings veteran versatility to Nicholls' kicking game
Jay Jones is a useful, low-drama special-teams piece for Nicholls because he has already shown he can contribute in multiple ways, including receiving and scoring in prior seasons before settling into a kicking role in 2024. In the 2024 season, he recorded 1 receiving touchdown and 1 reception for the Colonels, which hints at athletic value beyond the usual kicker profile. The best fit is a staff that values flexibility, composure, and a player who can fill in across special teams without needing the offense to bend around him.
