Dayton LeBlanc brings proven run-stuffing experience and coaching upside to North Texas
LeBlanc’s value is his compact 6-1, 283-pound frame, early-career production, and understanding of defensive line play: in 2019 he earned Conference USA All-Freshman honors with 30 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack, and he followed with 14 tackles, 1.5 TFL, a sack and a QB hurry in 2020 before medically retiring in 2022 and transitioning into coaching. That injury/medical-retirement history matters, but so does the football IQ he has shown as a student coach and later as a defensive line coach, which suggests a player who can help a program as much with technique and culture as with snaps on Saturdays.
