Austin Frain anchors a top-tier SDSU defense
Austin Frain fits the profile of a hard-nosed linebacker in a South Dakota State program that remains ranked among the FCS elite entering the 2026 season, with SDSU sitting No. 3 in both the AFCA and Stats Perform preseason polls.[1][2] He’s the kind of defender who matters most in the spaces stats don’t fully capture: gap discipline, run support, and the confidence to play fast inside a winning culture. If your team wants a reliable, physical, high-floor LB who can add toughness and stability, Frain checks the right boxes.
